Reuters reported this week that archaeologists working in deep in Guatemala's northern jungle have unearthed incredible carved panels that are believed to depict scenes from Mayan creation myths involving monsters, serpents and deities. The panels were discovered on the site of El-Mirador, the largest known Mayan city in the world which is constantly being excavated revealing more surprises. The city itself is remarkable in that it contained the complex roads, canals and impressive structures one would expect of a modern metropolis. The sites head researcher Richard Hansen has dated the panels to around 300 BC
As expected there was no mention of aliens or UFOs in relation to the find. Ufologists have been concentrating in particular on Mayan civilization and mythology for decades, probably more so than any other ancient civilisation. Its astronomy and myths of immortal beings arriving from the stars to give humans knowledge are well known.
Ufologists are now marvelling at the latest images of Mayan mythology carved in stone. Many have already noted that the panel shown on the Reuters website clearly depicts a UFO surrounded by two non-human beings covered in some form of technological equipment.
Interestingly the date range given for the carvings puts their creation not long after Ezekiel's graphic descriptions of wheels within wheels. To say that the similarity to Ezekiel's wheels and 'living creatures' is striking might be putting it mildly.
I don't think the proof of the theory that civilizations were once guided by alien visitors could get any stronger. The only question is when will our friends from space openly return and give us some guidance, possibly more needed now than then.

The New World Order is not about the supremacy of some nations over others. Instead, it is about a new focus for the world as a whole. We are caretakers of one another. Cayce's readings describe that responsibility in this way:

The ancient Maya are well known for their knowledge of advanced astronomy and mathematics. Their calendars are able to predict stellar events millennia into the past and millennia into the future. How a Stone Age group was able to acquire this type of knowledge and put it to use is still unknown. Through exhaustive and collective work, the few surviving codices (bark books) are starting to reveal some of their secrets. One interesting aspect of the Maya is their view of the universe and time. They believe both time and the universe have a cyclical nature. Events happen in recurring cycles and everyone and everything has a preordained part to play.
Upon this world a mere mortal is placed to live out their destiny and to help sustain the gods that created the universe. Although sometimes it seems a little help was needed to make sure everyone stayed on track.
This is a short account I learned from Maya descendants in southern Mexico regarding our pre-ordained destiny.
Upon birth, every child was assigned a Nahual by the gods. A nahual is a spirit being tasked with assisting its human to fulfill their destiny and in cases even act on his behalf. The nahual in essence is a shape-shifter, able to take the form of animals most notably jaguars, dogs or even humans while conducting its duties. If a child is destined to be an astronomer, a warrior or a tradesman the path was preordained and the child is required to follow that path to its conclusion.
Occasionally human free-will plays an unorganized role in the plan. Perhaps the child shows no interest in astronomy or is weak in battle making their intended destiny difficult. Nevertheless the individual is expected to fulfill their role and will be coaxed or even tricked by their nahual if they stray from their destiny.
This destiny fulfillment and the role a nahual can play is told in a story about a male child named "Jade Bird" whose destiny included being a warrior. Jade-Bird would be tasked with the responsibility of winning a great battle. However since an early age the child showed no interest in warrior roles. Instead the child showed great interest and skill in the art of picture writing. Various efforts were made by his family to train the boy in the art of warfare. Sadly, no apparent warrior skills were present, although not for the lack of trying. Simply stated, the boy did not posses the forceful nature or strength required to be a warrior. As time progressed and the boy grew in years he was able to make a living performing the task of picture writing but could never gain respect as a warrior. His demeanor was simply too timid.
One day a nobleman requested a work performed to commemorate his single handed victory over a very fierce enemy warrior he had slain. It was a noteworthy victory for the nobleman. He claimed he had defeated the enemy warrior "Jaguar-Paw" in combat in plain view of everyone in the battlefield. No mercy had been shown by the nobleman as he decapitated his victim. After the decapitation the nobleman gleefully stated that he then skinned the body and would proudly display the skin as his trophy. Everyone would forget the greatness of "Jaguar-Paw" and only remember his humiliating defeat at his hands. The nobleman wanted every detail pictured and written down for all to see.
After much work Jade-Bird completed his task. All important details had been captured in images and writing. The cruelty shown by the nobleman was apparent. Not only had he defeated Jaguar-Paw in battle, but now he would display his trophy to erase any greatness Jaguar-Paw might have accomplished. He would now only be remembered as someone's trophy.
The nobleman was very pleased with the work and quickly took his victory record. He was off to battle once more; a large group of enemy warriors were challenging the city.
What happens next is recounted as the work of a shape-shifting nahual performing his duties. An urgent request by "Jaguar-Paw", the leader of the attacking group was received, directed to the "Revered Warrior Jade-Bird" stating:
"Revered brother, I have studied your picture writing dispatch with much detail. My heart sank upon seeing your bold hand tell of what awaits me. I have no fear to die in battle. But to never be remembered for much except your trophy truly demoralizes me. I will take my leave along with my brave warriors never to return. If this place is defended by such warriors, may the gods deal with it."
After the withdrawal of the enemy warriors, many congratulatory verses were spoken on behalf of Jade-Bird. His bold move had been the tipping point in the siege.
Confused, Jade-Bird made a few inquiries as to the nobleman that had commissioned the work. No such person seemed to exist. All that could be gathered was first hand accounts of Jade-Bird in full warrior uniform personally dispatching runners with a challenge to Jaguar-Paw inluding a message in picture writing.

There is widespread and unnecessary fear of doomsday on December 21, 2012. Some people worry about a Maya prophesy of the end of the world, others fear a variety of astronomical threats such as collision with a rogue planet. Opinion polls suggest that one in ten Americans worry about whether they will survive past Dec 21 of this year, and middle-school teachers everywhere report that many of their students are fearful of a coming apocalypse. Following are brief facts that address these doomsday fears.
MAYAN CALENDAR: The Maya calendar, which is made up different cycles of day counts, does not end this year. Rather, one cycle of 144,000 days (394 years) ends and the next cycle begins.
MAYAN PROPHECY: The ancient Maya did not predict the end of the world or any disaster in December 2012. Such doomsday predictions are a modern hoax.
PLANET NIBIRU: Nibiru is probably the minor name of a god found in ancient Mesopotamian writing. There is no planet named Nibiru, and the fictional books by economist Zecharia Sitchin about a civilization on this planet are a hoax.
ROGUE PLANET HEADED FOR EARTH: For the past decade there have been reports of a rogue object (Planet X, or Nibiru, or Hercubolus, or even Comet Elenin) that will collide with Earth in December 2012. These claims are not true. If such a threatening world existed, it would be one of the brightest objects in the sky, and astronomers would have been tracking it for years. If it existed, its gravity would be distorting the orbits of planets, especially Mars and Earth. Astronomers know that it does not exist.
PLANET ALIGNMENTS: There is no alignment of planets in Dec 2012. There is an approximate lining up of the Earth and Sun and the center of our Galaxy in late December, but this happens every year. In any case, planet alignments have no effect on the Earth.
POLE SHIFT: There is nothing strange this year about either the magnetic poles or the rotational poles of the Earth. The magnetic polarity changes every million years or so, but that is not happening now, and it probably takes thousands of years when it does happen. A sudden change in the rotational axis has never happened and is not possible. If there were any change in the Earth's rotation, it would be instantly apparent by failure of our GPS systems.
INCREASING DISASTERS: Our planet is behaving normally in 2012, although we see more and more news stories about natural disasters. There has been no increase in earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. There has been an increase in extreme weather, including both droughts and floods, which are partly attributable to global warming, but this has nothing to do with a 2012 doomsday.
SOLAR OUTBURSTS: The Sun's ongoing 11-year activity cycle is expected to peak in 2013, not 2012. Solar outbursts (flares and CMEs) can damage orbiting satellites but will not hurt us on the surface. The strength of the 2013 solar maximum is predicted to be lower than average, not higher.
BUNKER CONSPIRACY: Accusations of a massive government cover-up are nonsense. No government could hide an incoming planet or silence hundreds of thousands of scientists. Rumors that huge bunkers have been built in the U.S. or elsewhere to shelter the elite are lies. Apparently a few people are building private shelters, but their fear of 2012 is misplaced and they are wasting their money.
SCARING CHILDREN: The group most vulnerable to doomsday claims is children. Teachers report that many of their students are frightened and some are even considering suicide. This is the most tragic consequence of the 2012 hoax.
THE END OF THE WORLD: The idea of the sudden end of the world by any cause is absurd. The Earth has been here for more than 4 billion years, and it will be several more billion years before the gradual brightening of the Sun makes our planet unlivable. Meanwhile there is no known astronomical or geological threat that could destroy the Earth.
COSMOPHOBIA: Many young people write to me that they are scared of astronomy. When they read about some new discovery, the first thing they think is that it might hurt them, even if it is happening in a distant galaxy. There is no reason for such fears, which I call cosmophobia (fear of the universe). This rash of concern seems to be the result of too many conspiracy theories and sensational stories featured on the Internet and irresponsible news outlets. Astronomical objects are so distant that they cannot threaten the Earth. Please don't be afraid of the Sun or the planets or comets or asteroids. The universe is not your enemy.

MAYAN FILMMAKER OFFERS PHOTO AS PROOF OF ALIENS, SAYS HAWKING AGREES
The filmmakers behind "Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond," who said that their film will reveal evidence of contact between the Mayans and extraterrestrials, have now released to TheWrap what they claim is photographic evidence of a pre-Mayan, alien civilization.
And they claim they've got Stephen Hawking on their side.
Producer Raul Julia-Levy supplied a photo (left), which he says was taken in southern Guatemala in the 1930s, showing a head carved in the jungle.
The monument, according to an accompanying letter by archaeologist Hector E. Mejia, dates back to between 3,500 and 5,000 B.C. and is evidence of a superior civilization unlike any known to have lived on Earth.
Mejia described the photograph as being "of a bust which at first glance can be seen to have an elongated cranium and fine characteristics which are not consistent with pre-Hispanic races of America."
"I certify that this monument presents no characteristics of Maya, Nahuatl, Olmec or any other pre-Hispanic civilization," he wrote. "It was created by an extraordinary and superior civilization with awesome knowledge of which there is no record of existence on this planet."
The photo is one of several purported pieces of evidence that will be shown in Julia-Levy's documentary, which he is making with the cooperation of the Mexican and Guatemalan governments keyed to 2012, the date the Mayan calendar ends.
"This explains who we are," said Julia-Levy, the son of actor Raul Julia. "This explains why these big f ing monuments are all around the world."
And Julia-Levy then passed along a direct quote that, he claimed, came from no less than Stephen Hawking, whom he said "is going to work with us" and will be included in his film: "I warn humanity that aliens are out there. Just because the aliens were friends with the Mayans doesn't mean they are our friends. Humans should avoid contact with aliens at all costs."
An email sent to a representative for Hawking asking about the authenticity of the quote was not answered.
Hawking has in the past said that that alien life is likely to exist in the universe ("to my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly natural"), and has speculated about the dangers of contact.
"If aliens ever visit us," Hawking has said, "I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn't turn out very well for the Native Americans."
The Wrap has been unable to unearth any instances of Hawking saying anything about the aliens ever contacting or being friends with the Mayans.
But Julia-Levy insisted that the words are Hawking's. He also claimed government conspiracies surrounding the photo and the head it depicts: After the photo was taken in the late 1930s, he said, it was published only once, in a magazine that was then immediately withdrawn from circulation by "the government of England."
He also said the head depicted in the photo, 17 meters (51 feet) tall and six meters wide, is no longer in the Guatemalan jungle but has been moved to the United States and hidden.
"I was informed by officials in the government of Guatemala that the U.S. government brought it here," he said. According to Meija, "The creative style is not consistent with the civilizations that inhabited the southern coast of Guatemala prior to the arrival of the Spaniards... It is indisputably pre-Olmec and pre-Maya... One can assign an age between 3,500 and 5,000 BC."
Mejia is a licensed archaeologist affiliated with the Atlas Arqueological de Guatemala and the Institute of Anthropology and History in Guatemala, and with the University of San Carlos. His statement was written in Spanish; TheWrap had it translated.
Mejia goes on to compare it to other monuments, including "the Moais of Easter Island, the Pascual Abaj monument... in Guatemala" and "the Great Sphinx in Egypt." He said it was "created by an extraordinary and superior civilization" that "settled in the south of Guatemala and from there shone its light and knowledge on the hunter gatherers who were its first students and received its teachings."
Julia-Levy said that Mejia is part of an international team of archaeologists and other professionals assembled by the filmmakers because they are "willing to tell the world the truth" about the Mayan/alien connection. "We have a gang of archaeologists and scholars and scientists that are going to come forward and show everything they have," he said. And, he swears, governments will do the same.
"I was told by the officials that the Mayans and the extraterrestrials had a history of exchange," he said. "This is official. This is as official as it can get." Added Julia-Levy, "The world hasn't seen this. Nobody has seen this. But there's no doubt in my mind that the world is ready for the truth.
"This is going to create a worldwide impact in how people see things."
His movie, by the way, has yet to begin shooting. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in Mexico and Guatemala in mid-November.

Photo of a sculpture that alledgedly proves ET contact credit: The Wrap/Raul Julia-LevyIn September, we published a story about a documentary that will be released in 2012 titled "Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond". The filmmakers claim this documentary will provide evidence that the Mayans had contact with extraterrestrials.
There is a new development with this story.
According to an article published by "The Wrap" today, the filmmakers have released a photograph they claim is "evidence of a pre-Mayan, alien civilization." The film's producer, Raul Julia-Levy, released the photo to "The Wrap", which shows a large, carved head in the jungle that was allegedly taken in southern Guatemala in the 1930s.
A letter from archaeologist Hector E. Mejia reportedly accompanied the photo. Mejia claims the head sculpture in the photo "dates back to between 3500 and 5000 B.C. and is evidence of a superior civilization unlike any known to have lived on Earth." He points out that the "elongated cranium" and "fine characteristics" of the sculpture are not consistent with pre-Hispanic races of America, and therefore must have been "created by an extraordinary and superior civilization with awesome knowledge of which there is no record of existence on this planet."
Julia-Levy claims that this photo is just one of several pieces of "evidence" that will be presented in the film.
And Julia-Levy also claims that Stephen Hawking is participating in his film. The filmmaker provided "The Wrap" with a quote he claims is from Hawking that will be used in the film. Hawking allegedy stated, "I warn humanity that aliens are out there. Just because the aliens were friends with the Mayans doesn't mean they are our friends. Humans should avoid contact with aliens at all costs." This statement is reminiscent of Hawking's grim statements from 2010, cautioning humanity against attempting to contact extraterrestrials.
"Revelations of the Mayans 2012" and Beyond is scheduled to begin filming in November.
"Maya" means illusion. In the uniquely Buddhist language, Pali, the word is "moha, "delusion." It's the Indian concept that the world is not what it seems to be. The Buddha revealed that what seems like permanent, painless, and personal is anything but.
"Maya, "according to Heinrich Zimmer, manifests its force through the rolling universe and evolving forms of individuals. According to Vedic Hinduism there is a reality, "Brahman", behind the illusory changing world. Buddhism considers the world an illusion because it is misleading and, as a result to our detriment, we become attached. Others misinterpret the Dharma that says the "self (composed of form, feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness) is emptiness" to mean that there is "nothing". It is not nothing, but rather no substantial "thing."
Apparent "things" are without essence, unsatisfactory, and always in flux. But that is on an ultimate level, not to be arrived at by thinking or believing or faith. It is directly observable through serenity-and-insight meditation.
Not only is it true of mentality (the psychological components of being), it is even true of materiality (the physical components and structures). Not only is it true for every apparent "thing" in the universe, it is true for all the constituents of existence: The self is this way.
Matter is made up of invisible atoms. They can be divided into electrons, protons, and neutrons. These subatomic or elementary particles were thought to form matter, but hundreds of other elementary particles have been discovered such as mesons, muons, neutrinos, and positrons. Scientists have since discovered that these elementary particles are themselves made up of smaller particles called quarks, hypothetical particles that carry a fractional charge (Quarks Diagram, 4to40.com). Then there are the strings.
They are incessantly arising and passing away. They are incapable of satisfying. They are impersonal.
To understand that secret, to know how it works, and to transcend the cosmic spell of illusion -- simultaneously breaking outwardly through layers of appearance and inwardly through the intellectual and emotional layers of the psyche -- this is the pursuit conceived of by Indian philosophy to be the primary and finally undeniable human task.
If it were ultimately pleasant and worthy of experience, the Buddha would have commended it and spoken in praise of "samsara." He did not. Instead, he spoke in praise of nirvana.

Reuters reported this week that archaeologists working in deep in Guatemala's northern jungle have unearthed incredible carved panels that are believed to depict scenes from Mayan creation myths involving monsters, serpents and deities.
The panels were discovered on the site of El-Mirador, the largest known Mayan city in the world which is constantly being excavated revealing more surprises. The city itself is remarkable in that it contained the complex roads, canals and impressive structures one would expect of a modern metropolis.
The sites head researcher Richard Hansen has dated the panels to around 300 BC. As expected there was no mention of aliens or UFOs in relation to the find. Ufologists have been concentrating in particular on Mayan civilization and mythology for decades, probably more so than any other ancient civilisation. Its astronomy and myths of immortal beings arriving from the stars to give humans knowledge are well known. Ufologists are now marvelling at the latest image of Mayan mythology carved in stone. Many have already noted that the image shown on Reuters clearly depicts a UFO surrounded by two non-human beings covered in some form of technological equipment.
Interestingly the date range given for the carvings puts their creation not long after Ezekiel's graphic descriptions of wheels within wheels. Reuters has published a photo of one of the Mayan panels and to say that the similarity to Ezekiel's wheels and 'living creatures' is striking might be putting it mildly. I don't think the proof of the theory that civilizations were once guided by alien visitors could get any stronger.
The only question is when will our friends from space openly return and give us some guidance, possibly more needed now than then.
